Korea Telecom recently announced it has formed a partnership with Alcatel for the development of WiBro. The two companies will build a R&D center in Seoul, called "WiBro Reality Center", which will test interoperability between base stations and end-devices, and convergence of fixed and mobile applications, while the center will also be used to showcase new equipment and services. Construction on the center will begin in the spring of 2006. KT and Alcatel did not disclose financial details of their deal.
